You know what? I'm not exactly sure. I don't know why anyone would need it but I enabled it anyway. Should I remove it?

Hah! I finally got it to work. To be honest its not that useful. It's supposed to be for roleplaying. The reason it wasn't working was because I enabled it but did not add a dice.

Here, you can add, modify or delete dices.

Each dice is composed with a default name, that represents it, and a number of faces. It's this name users will see when they have to choose to roll one or more dices.

Each dice can be possibly composed with one image representing this dice, and/or one or more images representing each side of the dice (for example, 6 images for a normal dice (6 sides) and one image for this cube)

This will allow you to create a lot of randomed drawdowns : backgammon dice (one value per side), choice of a random color (one color per side), random monster encontering (one kind of monster per face) etc ...

There are some interesting options in the forum administration panel. A lot of them are for roleplaying. For instance the dice thing and this power level thing underneath my avatar. I can always enable them but I don't know if anyone would like to use them.

what is the point of the power level thing anyway? or is it just a "look cool" feature?

From what Alynne said in the 'dices roll' post, my inference is that it's just your role playing identity, and somehow the dice factor into it.

It's supposed to be used for role-playing. I can create a bunch of "fields." Examples are an HP bar, an EXP bar, a "class" sheet (human, elf, giant, etc.). The point is that it is all part of a character sheet that identifies the different attributes of the person you are role-playing.

These are the other kinds of creatable "fields."
Text field : Will show simple text. (exemples : Name, Age...)
Bar : Will show a progressive bar which will depends of 2 whole numbers. (examples : Health points, Experience...)
Choice list : You can choose between several choices defined at the creation. (examples : Race, Class, Gender, Hogwarts House...)
Text/List : Will show text or list in multiple lines. (examples : Description, buffs, spells...)
Table : Will show two-dimensional board. You can insert values there according to the column and the line.

Not what I had expected, but cool.
