I'm currently writing an essay for a scholarship application.
They asked me to pick any (... ANY) quote about leadership and write about it.

I picked this one.

I think the admissions office will be quite flustered.

That is one amazing quote right there. I'm sure the admin offices won't be too happy with it... But oh god, the wording. It makes it so powerful.

It makes you wonder why haven't the movie industries hired the script writers of anime series and video games. Script writers from video games especially. Too many good one-liners.

Even though the quote is from Dissidia Final Fantasy, the wording is pretty powerful.
Sounds like something George Washington might have said? Or maybe John F. Kennedy since he said "We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard..."

Plus one thing is probably for sure, no one else would have used that quote and you'll stand out a lot Very Happy

Oh god I know, video games have great scripts. I wish I had an automatic thing that would record every profound statement I'd ever heard/read in a video game. Unfortunately I don't usually think about these things while I'm playing the game so I don't get to writing them down. ;w;

Haha, yeah, it's differently something refreshing for the admins to see! xDDD
I expect them to start reading it with the reaction "Hmmm yes yes very good quote... uhh wait final fantasy what"

I probably do these sort of things more often than I should
Like when we entered an online essay contest for extra credit in APEL
The prompt was "What was the most inspirational book you've ever read?"
I wrote about manga
And then won 2nd place
LOL THAT WAS GREAT

I think I pissed off a lot of people but it was glorious, I'll never forget it. xDDD

To have an automatic thing to record one-liner statements would be awesome. I know some romance VN games have that *coughShallWeDatecough* but I end up having to screenshot a lot of the instances that weren't recorded.

I feel inspired now to start spreading anime/manga/video game culture on essays and stuff. (Especially for outside comparisons for literary analysis essays in Honors Humanities lol) Been always too scared to flaunt my inner-otaku to other people XD

Curious though, what manga did you use?

LOL I've used Soul Eater quotes in an essay before...I'm glad I'm not the only weird person out there...

I'm glad all my English teachers hated those. I never had to do them. xDDD

I swear we're not alone! We were peer grading our "Value of Life" essays earlier this trimester and I had the lovely opportunity to read one arguing that there is no real value to life and including a quote from Gurren Lagann.
All biases aside, it was a very well-written essay; props to that person.

Working on a different application now, currently writing about Final Fantasy OST
I'm enjoying this way more than I should
