Some improved form of communication.

I don't know if this is possible, but I was wondering if we can have some sort of IRC chatroom or a shoutbox, so members can talk to each other in real time? It would hopefully make the forums more active than it is now. It'll also give me and some other members something to do if we're not on our MMORPGs. Heh.

Hmm, well I would suggest Ventrilo, but you'd have to have a headset and all, and pay a fee.
But it's a really good form of communication. That's how I strategize with teammates on MMOs.

I've never heard of shout boxes though, and what's an IRC?

IRC stands for "Internet Relay Chat," and is basically another name for an internet chatbox. I don't know EXACTLY how to create or use it, so yeah. Sorry about that. Shoutboxes are basically a chatroom integrated on the forums. I'll try to find a picture of one, so it'll make more sense.

You don't have to pay for Ventrilo as far as i'm aware

The ventrilo server I go on has been down for a few months because the friend who pays for it has been having financial problems
In the meantime we're using someone else's and have our own channel.

Maybe what you were saying is that everyone doesn't pay for it, which is true.
One person pays and gives the ventrilo info out to people who can go on the paid for server.
However, if that individual doesn't pay that month, you cannot have access to the server.
