Club Contest: T-Shirt Design (Deadline: October 21st 2010)

We are now holding a contest for the best design for a Japanimation Club T-Shirt. Post your ideas and designs here! Deadline is October 21st

I only hav an idea at the moment, but I'm working on design.

So far the premise is simple: Main color is back. On the front at chest level should be our logo, with, if possible, the word Japanimation written out in kanji/katakana, whatever japanese symbol that fits, right below it.

On the back, also at chest level, the quote "Not just your average anime club"

Is it jus me, or am I the only one in the club who actually says that? Hmm maybe we should put my username underneath this quote written in katakana.
I think its written out like this ---> シクルゥ

I think writing someones name in japanese is good enough to call our club not average, don't you think?

why was this project delayed this long?
I wish there had been club shirts last year.

I'm working on a rough sketch of my idea. It will be rather simple, I'll say in advance.

But there is one thing I ask from every club member reading this: a mascot.

If I can get a chibi sized mascot, I can put it either on the front or the back of the shirt. If no one gives me one, I'll just use my own chibi character.

some simple mascots would be:

A moogle. I think it's a pretty widely known symbol.
I think another good one that's pretty universal is a cute japanese school girl.
A giant mech would look pretty awesome.
Ryuk would be a cool mascot too, but only people who have watched DN would know who it is, but then again DN is a very popular anime/manga

and, Idk where this girl is from, but I think it's pretty funny.
It would look good on the bottom left corner of the back of the Tshirt:

but take out the motivational poster and just put "DESU OR GTFO"

everything listed above can be found if you type it into google.

maybe create a poll in another post? not sure where it wold go though. randomness would be appropriate i think.

10/21/09- Ok, I added a bit more detail on the front and gave the back a makeover. I still don't think I'm gonna win becuz of Daniel's, but I decided to put a bit more effort to it, just in case if I won. Wish me luck ppl.

it was really fun making it. i started and finished on the same day, it took about 7 hours i finished a little past 11pm. i was so focused on it that i forgot to eat ^^
and if it weren't for Meyeri i wouldn't have been able to make it. she gave me the photoshop program that allowed me to do it. Thanks again Mey-chan XD

hmmmm.......i do need to find something to teach for the photoshop lesson. maybe this could be one of the choices i could give u guys to choose from. but choosing will be left for a better time^^

I could really use that photoshop. i heard gimp was a pretty good program. I made my design using microsoft paint

Finally finished after slaving over MS Paint for 13+ hours. I love my absolute lack of art programs and digital art skillz. 8D

Quite sadly, my resource for the anime character images was... camera pics with MS Word and MS Paint editing, so that's the reason why Ichigo's blade is cut off... D: I really just wanted some sort of anime group in black and white, they don't necessarily have to be those images. Those were what I had in my arsenal.
I hope the concept is clear, but I always seem to fail at these things. D: Chains/locked within, unleashment, blah, blah, blah.

It was fun to design, but my eyes are probably permanently damaged now, yay. 8D

I have to ask...are you guys still accepting applications (I see in the title that the deadline is today >.>) Today at the meeting I think I heard that the deadline was next week, but I'm not sure (it can get pretty darn loud in the club room ><)... so I just wanted to make sure before I started on my idea :3

The deadline is indeed extended to next week; so no worries Cmunch-chan. And yes, it can get loud in the club room but since it was quiet today we got a lot of extra time in the end ^^. Get started on the idea for the shirt and just submit before next meeting

I was totally rushed for time, thus I think I can improve it The vector swirls I put on the original picture, haven't been showing up on the pictures I've been uploading (I think I'm messing something up ><). There are some other things I'd like to edit.

So I just wanted to ask, before I actually did it
